Hess Select Whites

The Hess Collection has a line called Hess Select that has some very affordable white wines that will be great for Spring and Summer as well as being paired with the seafood dishes at the restaurant.

Hess Select Pairing Suggestions:

  • Sauvignon Blanc with the Tuna Poke and Ceviche Verde.
  • Pinot Gris and Chardonnay with any of the salads and fish cakes.
  • Chardonnay with the Arctic Char
  • Pinot Gris with the white fish and miso broth dish.

These white wines retail between $12 and $13.

The Arrogant Frog Lily Pad Rose

The Arrogant Frog Wines paid us a visit at Kitchen 330 and picked out some of the dished he thinks he pairs well with. The duck and arctic char is what he chose to dine with. The soft pink color of the Rose of Syrah has aromas of wild cherries and spring flowers. Well balanced with flavors of cherry, watermelon and hints of orange zest. It retails for $9.99.

Bodega Colome & Bodega Amalaya Malbec

Bodega Colome & Bodega Amalaya are two Malbec wines from Argentina that are very food friendly and will pair well with some of the dishes on our menu.  The high altitude wines bring nice tannins and acidity to your meal without being over powering and heavy. Try it with the Tomahawk Duroc Pork Chop or the Kobe Flat Iron.

The 2015 Colome Malbec is 100% Malbec and retails for $25. The 2016 Amalaya is a blend of 85% Malbec, 10% Tannat and 5% Petit Verdot and retails for $16.

Godelia Godello-Dona Blanco

If you like Sancerre you will really like the Godelia Godello-Dona Blanco. It’s a nice white wine with bright acidity and minerality that will pair nicely with the seafood on our menu.  Both the Godello and Dona Blanca grapes are indigenous to the Galicia region of Spain. Once almost extinct the Godello grape is now widely planted and is a key grape varietal in Spain.

The 2015 Godelia godello-Dona Blanco is a blend of 80% Godello and 20% Dona Blanca. It retails for $17

Left Coast Cellars

Left Coast Cellars from Willamette Valley, Oregon has a nice portfolio of wine that will pair very will with the seafood on the menu at Kitchen 330.  Their Rose is a great everyday drinking wine and will pair well with the Mahi & Lobster. They produce a White Pinot Noir, which is a must try. The grapes don’t sit on the skins to extract color and tannins, so you are drinking a nice fresh wine that will pair well with a peach or berry salad. Their Pinot Gris will go with any of the seafood on the menu. Not to be left out is their line of Pinot Noir to have with the pork cheeks, salmon, duck, bacon, it will pair nicely with any dish or on it’s own. Other wines in their portfolio are Chardonnay both oaked and unoaked,  Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Viognier.  The prices range from $18 to $32

Garnacha from Carinena

If you are looking for some nice inexpensive red wines to pair with Chef Gus’s creations try some Garnacha from Carinena, a region to watch. Not to heavy or complex, these wines will pair will with our menu.  Read more about these wines and Debbie’s reviews at

Sanford Winery & Vineyards

Sanford Winery & Vineyards  located in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA in Santa Barbara produces elegant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Priced between $50 and $70 these wines pair well with many of the dishes Chef Gus creates. The Chardonnay with the Atlantic Species and the Pinot Noir with the Pork Chop and Monk Fish wrapped in Prosciutto.  Our customer was very happy with his choice of wine and pairing.
